From intuition and a dreamy state you will create cards that reflect aspects of your psyche, after which, we will partner and ask questions of our cards to further illuminate who would like to be seen or heard. In so doing we are better at choosing the stories we are living—developing our ability to honor ourSELVES and appreciating how devotedly listening to our own voice is a vital survival tool.

After a two year hiatus, a handful of us danced last week and decided we’d like to continue, what a joy to be in community again! We would love for you to join by attending our next monthly dance on February 18th at 7 pm. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water.
The last playlist I created was for the third Friday, March of 2020 & as you know, that week was the beginning of lockdown. On several occasions, I thought to start again with new openings, but it seemed most closures fell on that third Friday along the way! Here we are, the beginning of 2022 and I would like to host an ecstatic for this Friday, the 21st, the first, third-Friday of this New year!
I made a playlist in March of 2020 that I've not listened to and will play for a pre-pandemic-rewind before a fast-forward-February OPENING a time capsule of sorts.
Hoping a few of you would like to join me in this experiment at 7 pm Friday. Bring a bottle of water and wear something comfortable.
Each of our Astoria, Dream Circles ecstatic dances begins with a simple invitation similar to the one below. You simply show up, open to exploring your movement, your psycho-spiritual-physical place in the world, and decide whether you’d like to engage with others, or the invitation, at all. The dance is yours!
I invite you to begin by closing your eyes and notice in your body how everything in nature is moving and flowing. Every season, every solar return, every lunar cycle is part of a great flow. Feel this flow of nature and music as you sway back and forth from side to side, you sit quietly, you leap your exuberance--once in this state of free movement, carried in the tide of music, you will better know how to enter the flow of life in the way most natural and healing to you.
Wear loose and comfortable clothing, and though we have water, prefer you bring your own water bottle in helping save the world one disposable cup at a time :)

We will turn the wheel of the Year with dancing, drumming, and music making in a circle dance ending with sound healing & kirtan!

A workshop in which we will be applying dreams, their symbols, and poetic imagery to our artistic writings.
Not a poet? Not a writer? Doesn’t matter! This workshop is for everyone and you will leave with at least one discovered poem via a listening exercise. Using such exercises to wake up to the unconscious and the creative pieces that flow from our depths is an exercise of giving voice to an unseen ocean of energies, a practice dialogue, with our inner life and selves.
Yes, the word, exercise, three times because we will be writing at this workshop, beginning with found poetry through active listening and then by mining our own dream journals. Don’t fret if you don’t remember your dreams, you can use any journal of collected thoughts, observations, imagination in order to create a poem, so please bring such material along--the more recent the better.
Every dream is a masterpiece of symbolic communication and can be worked with in a sort of collage form as the writer arranges and rearranges to meet the current conscious narrative. Interacting with our dreams in such a creative way not only increases relationship with self, but often enough this work produces beautiful written pieces. You can choose if you’d like to share with others, or keep only for yourself!
